What is a credible resource?
Answer
How do I determine the credibility of a resource?
There are a variety of different types of resources available. It is important to determine which are credible and can be used in assignment work.
The library website is a great place to begin searching for credible resources. There are a number of journals within academic databases that you have access to which will contain credible resources.
The internet provides a plethora of information, often providing resources that aren't credible. Resources, particularly those found freely on the internet, therefore require close scrutiny for suitability.
The CRAAP test provides some guidance around what constitutes a credible resource and provides questions you can ask around determining a credible resource, particularly when searching outside of library databases. Find out more about Scholarly sources and the CRAAP test here.
