How do I request an article or book chapter via Document Delivery?

Answer

Requesting Articles and Chapters from Other Libraries

If an item is not held in the SAE Library collection, you may request a PDF of a chapter or an article via the document delivery service. The document delivery service is available to staff members, students undertaking a major project and postgraduate students, for the purposes of SAE research and teaching.

To place a request:

1. Go to the Library Catalogue.

2. Search for the title of the item and select the "Expand my results" slider (this will include items not held by SAE Library). Items which aren't held by SAE will have the option to place a "Document Delivery Request".

3. Select the "Document Delivery Request" link under the item details.

4. Ensure you are logged in using the My Library Login link via one of the following options:

i. The top of the page

OR

ii. Once you have selected the resource under the "Request It" Option.

5. Select "Document Delivery Request" and add any additional information to complete the form. (If you are an academic staff member and would like the PDF to become a reading, add the unit code and name of the unit in the comment section). Please note, due to copyright limits, we can only request up to 10% or 1 chapter from a book. Please indicate the chapter name or pages you would like.

6. Select "Send Request".

A Librarian will contact you if any further details are required and will supply the request to your student or staff email. The approved requests will be supplied within 5-10 working days (depending on resource availability).
